I is for Ice Cream

Some things are just fine as diet food.  One of the nutrisystem pizza's actually cures my craving for pizza.  The fake candy bars are also good.  The peppermint patty cookie is better than the real thing.  But ice cream should never be substituted.  Yech.

  1. Lately I've been craving root beer floats. My favorite use for ice cream. Fake ice cream? Ugh!

  3. Ice cream substitute?!?!!?! No way!!!! Ice cream is just milk and fruit so good for you - and I'm sticking to that notion! Yay for lovely ice cream (vanilla!!). Take care

  4. Not to be contradictory or anything, but I did find a wonderful ice cream substitute.

Take frozen bananas and mash them in the food processor until they are creamy. (Every time I do this there is a point where I say: "I don't think it will work." But if you mash them long enough it always works.)

This is a fabulous recipe because you can add, or not add anything you like. And you can eat a giant bowl for breakfast and not feel guilty.

  5. I discovered I really like the peanutbutter/chocolate "Skinny Cow" ice cream sandwiches. They are technically "diet" I guess, but they're really good.

I agree, some things are only good with all the calories in tact :)

  8. My first job was at Rose Glen Dairy, where I scooped the homemade ice cream and made hot fudge sundaes and such. Best job I ever had!
p.s. Don't read my "I" post if you are hungry!!
