On being Kathleen Kelly

Do you ever have days where you crave different life? Today I want to be Kathleen Kelly from You've Got Mail. In the morning she wakes up to an apartment with built-in bookcases. Kathleen wears modest yet stylish clothing as she walks to work every morning, in every season. She owns a tiny store and has a tiny circle of friends. Kathleen leads a simple life, even in New York City. Oh, the lessons I could learn.

  1. Hi Jane (I'm ditching the plain, sorry!)

"do you ever have days where you crave different life" - Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes! Maybe that's why I like writing stories. I could pretend to be this character, live this life, have this much chocolate and wine and never gain weight or get a hangover!

    :-)

Kathleen Kelly is a good one. I'm racking my brains to think of another - like the character Cher played in Moonstruck. I liked how her life turned out in the end!

    Take care

  2. Diane Keaton in Manhattan Murder Mystery. She lives in a classy apartment, minimally decorated, with her publisher husband, and they go out on the town to hockey games, opera, flea market shopping, old movies, and dinner at Elaine's. She cooks rich desserts and plans to open her own restaurant. Then just as her life seems humdrum and pointless, she gets a mystery to solve.

  3. So the moral of the story is: Everyone wants to live in New York.

  4. Diane Keaton in Something’s Got to Give. She is a published author, living in a wonderful seaside home with an absolutely fabulous kitchen. All wonderful, but could do without the What’s his name guy. Don't like him, creepy. Oh just remembered his name!! Never mind

  5. I love my life, I crave a secluded house in the woods though.
Sitting on my porch, looking into the trees, and not hearing a single vehicle on a distand highway is what I look forward to.
